Natalie - Founder and Owner
Hi, I'm Natalie, the owner of Salty Dog Pet Parlour, and I love getting to work alongside this amazing team and our wonderful local clients every day.
My grooming career started in 2003, training at Pet's Beautiful in London, ON under former Groom Team Canada member Marnie Mathison, where I learned to groom at a show ring standard. I opened my first shop in 2009 in Picton, Aspens' A Pet Grooming Place, which went on to earn the County's Reader's Choice Favourite Pet Groomer five years running. After a family move to Nova Scotia and back, I opened a second shop, Hair of the Dog, in Trenton, then two years later returned to my roots with a more focused, one on one atmosphere and opened Salty Dog Pet Parlour, earning Belleville's Readers Choice Favourite Groomer in 2025.
I'm proud of the cage free experience we offer, giving every pet full attention from the moment they walk in the door. My favourite part of the job is giving extra care to senior pets or the misunderstood ones who just need a little extra time and patience to come out of their shell.
Outside of grooming, I love completely unplugging at camp on the lake with my family and our crew of pets. I'm an outdoors person through and through, fishing, swimming, hiking, and winter is my favourite season. I also love live music, reading, and a good film, and one day I'd love to become a falconer.
Barb - Lead Groomer
Hi, I'm Barb, one of the lead groomers at Salty Dog Pet Parlour. I've always said grooming isn't just my job, it's a part of who I am.
My career started in 2010 with a co op placement at Aspens', Natalie's first grooming shop. I've spent the last 16 years grooming alongside her, always learning new skills and improving my craft so every pet leaves feeling comfortable and fresh. I have a soft spot for the dogs who don't love their groom at first. With patience and care, they come to enjoy their visits with me.
Outside of the shop, my time is spent with my son watching our favourite scary movies. Spooky season is definitely my favourite time of year.
Grace - Lead Groomer
Hi, I'm Grace, one of the lead groomers at Salty Dog. I started my grooming career in 2017 with a co op placement at Hair of the Dog in Trenton alongside Natalie, and I was hooked from the start.
I graduated from Durham College in 2020 with a diploma in animal care, which helped expand my knowledge of animals and their needs. Since then, I've kept growing my skills through hands on learning and grooming seminars and workshops, and I especially love creative colour grooming and dye jobs.
When I'm not at work, you'll find me at home relaxing with my two cerebellar hypoplasia cats and my mini poodle, Mimir. Yes, you've likely seen Mimir at the shop, he's our resident shop dog.
Alana - Groom Tech
Hi, I'm Alana, a groom tech at Salty Dog. I've always loved animals and working hands on with them, from raising bees to keeping chickens and horses. My experience includes breeding Lab retrievers and training and competing in sports like obedience, dock diving, and hunting.
I started my grooming career as an apprentice with a poodle breeder, then took a position at Salty Dog in 2024. Since then I've grown my skills to become a groom tech, mastering double and smooth coated breeds, and I'm continuing to learn hand scissoring on the grooming breeds.
When I'm not working, I'm usually outdoors hunting, fishing, or hiking with my family. I love exploring new places and making the most of every adventure.
Kaylee- Groom Tech
Hi, I'm Kaylee, a groom tech at Salty Dog. My journey into dog grooming began during a school co op placement, where I first discovered my passion for working with animals. That hands on experience quickly turned into a genuine love for grooming and led me to my first position five years ago in a salon.
In 2023 I joined Salty Dog, where I've continued to grow my skills and become a groom tech. I mainly work with shedding coat breeds and love completing deshed treatments, and I'm working on more scissor grooms to become a full rounded groomer.
Shayla - Groom Tech
Hi, I'm Shayla, a groom tech at Salty Dog. I recently moved to Belleville and am excited to be growing my career here.
I earned my Veterinary Assistant diploma in 2025, which is where I discovered my love for grooming and making pets look and feel their best. I've worked with animals for over five years and love building trust with every pet that comes through the salon.
I'm currently training in trimming and can't wait to keep learning and growing my skills.
Lauren - Groom Tech
Hi, I'm Lauren. Just a couple of months ago I graduated with my Veterinary Assistant diploma. During my course I had a grooming lab and absolutely fell in love. Not only do I get to spend time with all the cuties that come into the salon, I get to see their amazing transformations, and I can't wait for my grooming career to grow.
I've been working in the animal industry for three years now, with many more to go. Every time I meet a new pet, I love creating a bond and getting to know them.
In my spare time, I like to go to the gym, go for walks, and pet sit.
Lise - Our Cat Groomer
Hi, I'm Lise, the resident cat groomer at Salty Dog Pet Parlour. I started grooming over 30 years ago and have enjoyed a career offering all breed dog grooming and specialized cat care. These days I'm focused on cat grooming, dedicated to gentle, expert care for your fur babies.
When I don't have shears in hand, I love staying active outdoors, usually recharging by the lake or hiking and exploring new areas. I also love trying new recipes in the kitchen or curling up with a good book.
Mirmir and Potato - Our Shop Dogs and #1 Greeters
Our resident Shop Dogs Mimir the Miniature Poodle and Potato the Brussels Griffon round out our team! Born a few weeks apart in 2024, these two silly characters have been raised in the shop and love their roles as greeters to our clients and product testers for our groomers! Well…Mimir likes working with the groomers anyways…Potato hates baths. Go figure!
what our community has to say
“I dropped my sweet Luna girl off for her first groom today! We both had the best experience. Each staff member we interacted with were super amazing and kind! She came back so excited and fresh! Having a groomer experienced with a double coated dog was something I researched on and I’m so glad I chose the salty dog!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Salty Dog! My golden doodle has very curly hair and mats super easily, and in the past I’ve had groomers just shave her down everywhere. Today was a completely different experience—right from the start I felt like I could trust them, and they did an incredible job. They were able to work through her coat while keeping the fluff around her face, and she came out looking like a brand new dog! Hands down the best grooming experience I’ve ever had. So happy we found Salty Dog—highly recommend!”

“I highly recommend taking your animals here to be groomed! They are extremely friendly, take care of your animals and make you feel very comfortable. As a pet owner with a scared puppy whenever she goes somewhere without her mom, they make her feel calm! They never fail to impress us!”
— LMP
“Exceptional organization and professional. It took me about a half dozen grooming businesses to finally find one that meets my expectations. The staff is friendly and courteous and my pet enjoys each and every visit even though I drive from Bancroft which is about 1-1/2 hour drive to their location. For the services they provide, the price is affordable and worth the drive every 4-6 weeks to have my Golden Retriever groomed.”
— GS
“Salty Dog always treats my boy so well. We come from Peterborough for his grooms because nobody else has shown him as much love as the Salty staff! Highly recommend bringing your furry friends here.”
— CD
“We are new to the area and were just so pleased with the service we received at Salty Dog. They took the time to explain their grooming process, were very professional and friendly and ended up with the best cut our doodle has ever received. Greats prices and clean atmosphere. 5 STARS!”
